ReadyTech Way

From a loft space in Oakland, California, we managed a team of technical instructors based around the US and Europe. This team traveled the globe teaching classes for some of the largest IT companies in the world. After a decade of being road warriors, we experienced first-hand the many IT challenges associated with IT training – labs not working, training materials missing, set-up and configuration issues. Too much time and money was being lost trying to fix these problems. We knew there had to be a better way.

Hosted Virtual Training

Built for Instructors by Instructors

It was 2002 when we started thinking about what, if anything, could be done remotely. At first, we concentrated on the most problematic part, which was the virtual lab environment. In these early days, virtualization wasn’t ready for prime time, so we focused on building a hardware-based lab solution. It was during that time that our mantra, “worldwide performance and stability,” was established. We knew if we could achieve that, our solution would work.

In 2003, we launched, and it was an immediate success with customers. As virtualization technologies matured and cloud services started to develop (AWS launched in 2006), we added cloud hosting to our solution. More importantly, we began to think beyond the lab and are now building various tools to help instructors deliver excellent training and keep students engaged. We are no longer in that small loft. We are headquartered in Uptown Oakland, with international offices in the Netherlands and data centers in California, Singapore, and Amsterdam. While we have been tempted into other markets, we have decided to stay firmly focused on where our passion is: the training business.

Our Approach

Our goal is to build solutions that continue to solve real-world training delivery problems, e.g., how does the instructor know when and if remote students have successfully completed all the labs? Or how can a single instructor handle questions from a class of 30 or 40 students? Every time we approach a problem, we think about it from the point of view of the instructor, student, and training manager. Then, we design the best technical solution possible.

That’s our story. So, if you are looking for a training delivery solution with layer after layer of deeply thought-out features explicitly designed for training, you are in the right place.
